Start spreading the news
I'm leaving today
I want to be a part of it
New York, New York
(Switch to rap)
*I love you NY
City of lights city of dreams
City of sirens city of kings
You can feel the light flow through these streets
This is where the great once stomp their feet
Put the boogie down on over the uptown
Stacking out beat playing the back down
Manhattan what’s happening
It’s time baby stay packing
Ny how I hate to leave her
Keep her sounds coming out my speaker
The city don’t sleep so I won’t either
In my heart is where I keep her
New York you are the electric city
As for the wise in the streets
That all New York’s the place for me*
If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere
It’s up to you
New York, New York
New York, New York
New York, New York
I want to wake up in the city that never sleeps
And find I'm king of the hill, top of the heap
King Of The hill, king of the world
It’s up to you
New York, New York
